Champion Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Champion (or alternatively also stylized as Champion U.S.A.) is an American manufacturer of clothing, specializing in sportswear. The brand is a subsidiary of Hanesbrands (based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina), which was spun off by the Sara Lee Corporation in 2006. The company was originally based in Rochester, New York, prior to its acquisition by Sara Lee in 1989.

Armand angrily mentioned, "It's fairly simple to find Champion around third party stores, but ordering off their website is the worst thing you can do! Shipping is backed-up because of Covid-19, which is fair, but it's expected to be shipped within 7 days. I'm on a week and a half now and it's still processing! Not to mention, I'm currently trying to get ahold of them through customer services, and I've been on hold for 30 minutes. I haven't heard from anyone yet, I'm so angry, that I'm writing a review about them, and I don't even typically write reviews. I strongly recommend buying they're merchandise other places, stay away from their website!"

Former Employee - Project Manager says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for less than a year Cons: take home vehicle sucked, company unstable, lots of warranty issues with product."

Former Employee - Sales Consultant says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for more than a year Cons: Pay is low, commission only, but you do not have control over appointments, price, or quality. Commissions are gamed by supervisors and you never really get what you wrote up. No appointment quality checks/control, regularly had to drive 2+ hours for an appointment that did not show. Averaged 5 "no show" out of 12 appointments, no compensation for lost drive time or wear and tear. At the end of the day its no skin off their backs if they send you to a bad appointment, if you dont make the sale they dont pay. So unbelievably overpriced you start to feel like you are just scamming people too stupid to get 3 quotes. The perks of the product they tell you are just basic facts about windows and you are expected to present them as if they are mind-blowing, i.e. they use vinyl, which does not rot! Can you believe? Imagine never having to deal with rotten windows or painting! The company is clearly stringing itself along until it can sell itself to a private equity firm and bail."

Former Employee - Sales Associate says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for more than 3 years Cons: You have two managers that will pick the leads they want to run. They are always picking the better ones and the rest of the sales staff is stuck with the crumbs. The turnover is extremely high for a job that pays so well"

Former Employee - Sales Representative says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for more than 3 years Cons: over price products. poor customer service"

Former Employee - Administrative Assistant says

"I worked at Champion Window part-time Cons: treats people with disrespect, micromanaging and controlling environment. It literally hurts your mental state. TERRIBLE"

Former Employee - Sales Representative says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for less than a year Cons: You can’t survive on selling windows alone and they are in no hurry to introduce additional products. Management is the worst I’ve ever had! Get ready for fuzzy math on your pay. You receive half of your commission when the sale is entered into the system. The back half when the remeasure is complete. Good luck getting that! Apparently, the glorious training set you up to get half of your commission because you didn’t charge enough! Management pushes to the point of burnout very quickly. Do not plan on making a career here. They churn through people."

Former Employee - Sales Representative says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Long, long hours chasing poorly screened leads. No company car or mileage reimbursement, so costs Champion nothing to send you all over the place and appear to care less about the quality of the leads. Angry customers filling your voicemail all day long... poor service and sketchy installs. Miserable leadership full of phony, empty platitudes at the top and all the way down to Sales managers. Countless loss of great people both at corporate and division level have left this company over the last 3 years and no end in sight to the bleeding... Oh, and now they are suing former employees, trying to hold THEM responsible for management failures. Desperate and despicable."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for more than 3 years Cons: -There is a disconnect between upper management and the rest of the departments. They don't understand how much responsibility other departments carry or the impact that letting go of dozens of employees will have. -There is too much loyalty to employees that have been there for over 10 years. Quite a few are related in one way or another and this culture has developed to the point where they will fire their squeaky wheels instead of solving real HR problems that occur in the office -Sales guys are old school and are taught to push their product and deals hardcore. I've heard multiple reports from customers about how pushy the salesmen are and there was even video evidence of one harassing a customer outside their house."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I have been working at Champion Window full-time Cons: Company has repeatedly asked employee to ask us for high rating on Glassdoor, door. Proof is last few reviews, also proof is look at yearly trend. No work life balance. Upper leadership not open to listening to boots on the ground feedback."

Former Employee - Management says

"I worked at Champion Window full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Ownership and Management, sense 2016, the company has declined fast, poor managerial decisions, the better managers recognize this decline left the company. A players wants to be with A playes, F players will work with subpar players, and that is what management is left at Champion."

Factory Representative (Former Employee) says

"I worked at champion for 4 months. First month was training. After that you get 3 appointments a day. Well thats what they say. I was lucky to get 6 a week. I had a very high closing percentage around 64%. I never recieved a single comission check after the first 2 weeks. I kept getting promised and they just never paid. Now I'm getting a lawyer involved. I would not recommend any work here. Cons: Lots of drive time. They don't pay"

Commissioned Factory Direct Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"Sell it then they adjust your commission then they cant get an installer to install it. You drive all over. No consideration for distance or time between appointments. Cons: See above."

Lead Installer (Former Employee) says

"I started working at this company about 4 1/2 months ago and never had a manager. They highered a manager and without 2 weeks they fired him for no reason. Company is awful. Everything was going smooth for about a month then I started seeing the flaws. If you want a career here I would not recommend it. And I’m a very honest person. They don’t care about employees nor their customers."

Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"Before they he business structure changed I enjoyed my job. The last 2 years were a nightmare and I would not recommend working here. They do not care about their employees Cons: Driving to the office daily"

Production Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"I enjoyed my co-workers and worked hard to turn the perception of our office around. During my time here we went from one of the least productive offices in the nation to a location that began receiving quarterly bonuses. I enjoyed the challenges that we faced and coming up with creative solutions."

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) says

"Hope this is a great start to your morning because you made a huge mistake asking me to review this place. Thanks for the suggestion though! Oh also, just because you only send the link to certain people you like doesn't mean we don't all talk, we send it to other people that aren't happy and I am also pretty sure it's illegal to ask for only "positive reviews". So Champion, here's my POSITIVE review for ya. Cons: e v e r y t h i n g"

Factory Representative (Former Employee) says

"Company direct markets vinyl windows like they did in 1953 when founded you have no control of the job after you sell it to you and additional construction cost and cut your commission down to nothing the whole system is geared to hire sales people burn them out and hire more and keep the commissions so they don’t get paid when they quit. Moreover you’re a W-2 employee with no flexibility no independence and no base pay and no reimbursement of fuel or mileage when you’re having to drive an hour to an appointment that doesn’t show up and back to your home or the office without any compensation the majority of leads are awful the in this Pittsburgh market and they have no presence compared to other replacement window companies. I was closing four out of five actual sit downs when people showed up for the appointment so it’s not like I wasn’t getting any sales. Cons: W-2 position no base no fuel reimbursement"

FIELD REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee) says

"Poor management. Poor communication. Little to no support from upper management. Install department lacks communication and does little to assist the sales reps. Payroll is secondary, if the payroll person runs out of time to get reports together you wont get paid. Constant changes to pricing structure without communicating to sales reps which leads to costing you money. Great product but don't expect to be able to compete with all the ridiculous add ons your forced to sell just so you wont get hit with charge backs and lose your money. Cons: Poor management, Lack of leadership, Install department doesnt communicate with sales force, False promises and forgetten gurantees"

Wearhouse associated (Former Employee) says

"I work 2 and half years.. Some time they text you massage saying power outlet and in a busy hours they made to work 9 hours a day and Saturday too but after October they only keep the permanent employee so if you think to go over there think 1000 spoiled your time and look other job.. Management is worse side of this company..."

Project Manager (Former Employee) says

"The thing with this company is that the better you are at your job then the less likely hood you’ll be promoted to something that will actually allow you to get ahead in life"

Office Manager (Former Employee) says

"Overwork you to death, scream and yell when something goes wrong. Expects you to do other people's work when they slack. Management is never there, they're off shopping, vacation time, you have to figure out what to do with all the complaining customers. Windows and doors were high priced junk."

Frame Builder (Former Employee) says

"There was no ventilation here .the bosses just pushed and pushed practicly no brakes. The pay was just as bad, it hit minimum wage. However that maybe why the place has closed down already. Cons: Heat"

Clerk (Former Employee) says

"A typical day was making phone calls and confirming appointments. The management was ok. Cons: Night work"

Coordinator (Current Employee) says

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"I worked at Champion Windows for a year and I was treated so poorly. The manager promised me a lead position and turned around and gave it to someone else because I had something happen out of work that I couldn’t control. They will have you do others work all the time because everyone calls off and will make promises to you and don’t want to give you any raises my advice is RUN!"

Lead Installer (Former Employee) says

"So first off i worked for them for 2 years and got to know the ins and outs, the first hint something was wrong came in the form of my manager shaving hours off my timecard and taking hours i had worked so he didn't have to pay overtime. I should add they said id be making $80,000 a year which i made 40. I am a very honest person and will stand up for whats right so obviously this did not fly with me. I brought it to the general manager and he agreed it was unfair and illegal so he promptly told my manager to give my hours back and to never do it again. That was all fine for a little while but then i noticed i started getting the smallest hardest lowest paying jobs which is directed by my manager who was obviously holding a grudge at this tim. This went on for another 9 months of me fighting for my position and a good he tried to write me up and basically did everything in his power to get rid of me or make my family brokeit finally ended when they thgeneral manager teamed up with him and basically told me to collect unemployment and look for another job. Now im not one to brag but i have record times and numbers that probably will never be broken. I nstalled a 3 season sunroom start to finish inunder 40 hours and never had any leaks or problems ata all. I never failed an inspection out of the hundreds i passed and i never missed a day of work or was ever sick. I was the youngest fastest and most skilled and whether resilient in the whole location. Also I used all my vacation time in the first 6 months of this year on weeks i had to supplement my checks because my manager was"

Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"They have horrible management and unrealistic expectations. Also steal money from salespeople. I would not recommend working here to anyone. They also dont stand behind their products."

Sales Representatives (Former Employee) says

"Possible to make 80K if you can learn to sell higher priced products (sunrooms, doors & siding). Maybe 2 out of 8 reps may qualify for these sales. Just selling windows will get you less than 30k at best, paying your own gas & car expenses. You high pressure sell overpriced windows & 6 week wait for installation. Customer appointments are poorly qualified & you will drive long distance to find the customer cancelled in advance or simply avoided the appointment all together. 50% or more of your appointments will not be a possible sale. Seasoned sales pros Micro managed every day as well. Cons: Poor income/commission, poor leads, upset customers after sale, micromanaged"

Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"Leads are cherry picked by management. The best leads go to the managers, the next best leads go to new guys. There is a shockingly high amount of turnover, there's always 2 to 3 new sales reps per month. Most don't last more than two months. 100% commission. You pay for your own gas, drive your own car. Go to meetings 4 times a week on your own dime. Cons: Paying for your own gas, putting over 30k a year on your car, running bad leads so often, making such a small amount on a 100% commission job. 60+ hour weeks"

Install Manager (Former Employee) says

"They preach what to do but don’t do it they’re self. You will get blamed for things out of your control. Pay is good for a 40 hour week but that never happens. Management does not last long. Turnaround rate is bad and the factory is terrible. Do yourself a favor and apply elsewhere. Cons: Everything else"

Sonia says

"Scam website - is the official website. Unfortunately discovered after order!! Pleced an order for over £100 on 30th November, no email, no confirmations, nothing. Not able to contact via the site, the phone number doesnt work (surprise surprise) fortunately money is still pending with paypal and not left my account. Paypal are unable to stop the transaction so i have simply removed my banking/card details to prevent the money coming out of my account and raised a dispute. Wish I had checked all the reviews on here before ordering."

Godefroy alex says

"I bought underwear and socks from this brand, I have never seen such a poor quality on a «  famous » brand, incredible. Hype brand now but that’s all. Avoid !"

diane pocock says

"Do not buy reverse weave hoodies any more unless you like bad quality. I bought one at Christmas made in Vietnam when I was in Australia and very happy with it. Bought another one for my son this month and made in China. Completely different fabric , lint on inside and stiching not the same. Its not right that people have to accept the lesser quality for same price. And its not right for the environment as it won't last as long. Check where you are buying your garments from Champion and compare to how they use to be made."

Swanky Pins says

"Have now ordered the same product 3 times. Having received no emails regarding dispatch, each time I have had to check my account and each time found the order to have been 'cancelled' - DESPITE being told via telephone on the second two occasions that 'all colours are in stock' and to try again. Each time I pay £90 and the order is cancelled within 24 hours - i then wait a week for a refund. No communication from the company at all to explain why the order is cancelled but when I phoned, apparently the order had been cancelled due to being out of stock - even though I checked with them before ordering after the first cancellation. I emailed them and said if the chosen colour was out of stock, could they sent an alternative colour - they ignored this and just cancelled without informing me. The third time I phoned they offered me a discount code - I've refused this as there is no point having a code if I cannot order the items I want. I refuse to deal with them again, its a joke. Their website should say 'out of stock' instead of allowing customers to order and then be disappointed."

Alicia says

"One wash on a white jumper and it’s so bobbly it can’t be worn again. £60 ( was washed as per instructions) extremely disappointed"

Mary Cooney says

"Do not buy from this Store. I paid $38 for a large animated talking Pumpkin. What I received was a Euro/Dollar store small flashing light pumpkin that doesn’t even work. After contacting Customer Service and asking for money back and a return label, all I got was frustrated, communications with customer service has now reached 10 emails. They apologised for the “mistake” and offered me a refund of $3. The fight goes on."

Amber Robinson says

"I returned two items that I received from It took 3-5 business days to receive these items. But, upon returning items, I still have not received credit back at 5 weeks. I called customer care, they said it takes about 6 weeks for returns. How awful is that and such lack of customer service for a trendy item. I refuse to order from their site again!"

Richard Moore says

"Shocking customer services. Clueless staff Maria, Gary, Catherine who cannot help in anyway. Credit team not reachable, 46 days still no refund despite being told it will take 2-3 days. Sent numerous emails and phone calls, they never contact you, you have to chase them to get nowhere with them. Product was of poor quality too. Do not shop there!"

David Eugenio says

"Ship partial order, no details on the rest of the order, no updates, nothing. There's no email or chat to inquiry about it. ONLY phone call. So here I am waiting on hold for 35 minutes for a stupid $12 tshirt they havent shipped. Keep your dang tshirt."

Chris Barrow says

"Email me on the day my product was supposed to arrive saying it’s out of stock even though they’ve already taken all my details and card details. Why is it on the website if it is out of stock? Absolute joke"

Fabian says

"I tried 5 TIMES placing an order with different credit cards, all of them were rejected. I only got an email saying the order had been placed but then (coincidentally all of them were sent the next day in the morning) got an email saying the payment didn't go through, even though I called my bank and they said the money was withdrawn from my account. Terrible customer service."

Carolina Fernandes says

"My order never arrived, when i called they said they lost my order due to loads of work (3 calls in between, and waiting for champion costumer service contact me, like they said they would). In my last call they said that they were sorry but needed to place a new order, funny is I went to their website an out of stock on the t-shirt that my daughter specific wanted and her size, so i will say sorry to her when Christmas comes, giving her the same excuse they said to me (loads of work). Champion should be ashamed how they treat the costumers specially is not a cheap brand."

Wayne Nennstiel says

"Ordered a product. Got sent an email to say the order had been received. No delivery, no further emails, no communication at all, and then when I phone up, apparently, the order had been cancelled due to being out of stock. No communication to say this had happened at all. I call that awful customer service."

Lars says

"Bad customer service, decent clothing"

Giorgi Japaridze says

"Payed for fast shipping but the product arrived late. even later then free shipping would. No customer service. Nobody to contact with. Not even on Facebook page."
